Gonna say it straight out of the gate: the inspiration here is part Barstool Sports (*tips hat to Dave Portnoy*) and part me being completely fed up with how information gets shared and talked about these days; there's too much of it, most of it's skewed one way or another, and they eventually get to the point way later, often after the paywall.

I know most people, myself included, get their news and takes through X these days. I get it, I'm not trying to change that, and we'll probably get it from the same place. But I think there's still room on the internet for a spot where you can get quick hits without it being sandwiched between an Instagram thot getting you to go to their Linktree, some boosted ad for another AI app, a clip of some YouTuber doing a crazy new challenge, or just a bunch of people yelling into the void that is X. Not saying that stuff isn't entertaining, I've gone down that rabbit hole plenty of times and forgotten what I even opened the app for. But sometimes you just want the actual story.

WTF Is This isn't here to lecture you or tell you what to think. We're not your professor, boss, parents, or absolutely useless HR department. We're a different kind of outlet, one that takes what's already out there, boils it down, and gives you a read on it. Might not be the sharpest take in the room, but it's an honest one, and it's ours.

Every week we'll break down what people are talking about, or should be talking about, without the fluff, the spin, or the ten paragraph windup before anyone gets to the point. Politics, culture, weird internet stuff, whatever's making people lose their minds that week, we'll tell you what's actually going on. Whether you care or not is on you.

No agenda. No lecture. Just the "wait, WTF is this" answered.
